Julie Bothe
I’m a problem solver at heart. In my everyday life, I am on a constant quest to “find a better way” to accomplish everyday tasks (just ask my husband!). Learning to problem solve is what led me to realizing my interest in working with technology. When I purchased my first desktop computer in high school, I learned to fix it by inadvertently breaking things. Although my intentions were not to “find a better way” at the time, I certainly learned that I enjoy digging in and solving problems. This interest in technology is what led me to attain my undergraduate degree in Management Information Systems later followed by a Masters in Business Administration.
My career has entailed working in healthcare information technology, primarily focusing on leading and supporting electronic medical record implementations as well as facilitating improvement to clinical workflows. I chose to work in healthcare for the same reasons I volunteer my time for MyFSHD. I enjoy working in a field that involves bettering the lives of the community. I’m honored to be part of a foundation that dedicates their time and efforts towards educating and empowering those impacted by FSHD, including myself, in addition to “finding a better way” to facilitate no cost research testing.
In my spare time, I can be found outside in my garden, experimenting with recipes, as well as spending time with my husband and daughter.
